Food caught in your teeth? Running your tongue over your front teeth is a good way to check for food and the simplest way to clear it off if it's not really lodged in there. If you can't dislodge the food with your tongue, excuse yourself and remove it in the restroom. If you notice food stuck in a fellow diner's teeth or food on her face or clothes, she'll appreciate your telling her. If only the two of you are at the table, say, "Maggie, you seem to have a little something on your chin"; if you're in a group, silently signal her by catching her eye and lightly tapping your chin with your forefinger.
